Lillian I. Wallenius
1915-2011
SPRINGFIELD-Lillian I. (Brown) Wallenius, 95, died Sunday in Heritage Hall. She was born in East Longmeadow, daughter of the late Edwin and Lillian (Hennessey) Brown. She grew up in West Springfield and New York City and has lived in Springfield since getting married in 1938. She was employed at several area retailers including Forbes and Wallace and Kresges, until retiring in 1974. She was a longtime communicant of St. Mary's Church. She was predeceased by her husband Edward W. Wallenius in 1987. She leaves two sons, William of Claremont, NH and Richard of Southington, CT, a daughter Ann Wallenius of Springfield, with whom she lived, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was also predeceased by her brother Donald Brown and her sister Olive Barry. The funeral will take place Wednesday with a calling hour at West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home from 8:30 to 9:30 am followed by Mass in Mary Mother of Hope Church at 10 am. Burial in Hillcrest Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
