Obituary

Linda Lepore-Wilson, 73, of Holyoke, entered heaven on August 6, 2022 in Mercy Medical Center.  She was born in Springfield on July 23, 1949 at Baystate Medical Center.  Originally from Agawam, where she worked for twenty-seven years at Maybury Material Handling in East Longmeadow and fifteen years as head of track security at Riverside Park Speedway in Agawam up until its closing in 1999.  She will forever have a lasting impact for all who crossed her path.  Upon her retirement she worked for ten years at the Big E kitchen at the Better Living Center.  This outstanding woman was a life member of the American Legion, VFW and the AmVets.  She spent countless hours and years volunteering her services to our veterans, from the Holyoke Soldiers Home to Boston and many VFW's around the country.  The saying goes, "You cannot hold a good woman down" was true with her.  She loved everything and everyone. Some of her favorite activites were going to the beach, playing softball, where her team won championships, camping all over, bowling where she was one of the best in her prime, shopping, traveling and spoiling her family, expecially her only child, Thomas.  When she had free time, she would watch the New York Yankees and the Miami Dolphins as much as possible.  She was thirty year season pass holder for the Springfield Falcons Hockey Team, taking trips with them.  She lived a very successful and happy life and will be deeply missed by so many.  Linda was predeceased by her husband, Walter Wilson who passsed in 2017.  The reunite again, along with her mom, Carmella (Buoniconti) Lepore.  She also leaves her father, Albert Lepore who is currently at the Holyoke Soldiers Home at the age of 97, a son, Thomas Lepore of Holyoke and his significant other, Jillian Jaworski with her son, Orion.  She always calle her "my daughter from I don't know" and a sister, Patricia Lepore of Holyoke, who served our great country in the Air Force.  She also leaves a grandchild, Jessica Brewer and her husband Ray of Bristol, TN and her great-grandchildren, Brayden Lepore and Chloe Brewer and many, many cousins.  A chapel service will be Friday at 9am at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, where she will be buried with her husband, Walter.  Heaven has gained a special angel.  It's never goodbye, it's see you later was her motto.  There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, September 17, 2002 from 2-6pm at the VFW Post 9397, 190 Main Street, Hampden, MA 01036.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mercy Cancer Center, 271 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
