Linda M. Suty, 64, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 7, 2022 after a twelve-year battle with cancer.  Born in Springfield, daughter of the late John and Stasia (Socha) Suty, she was a lifelong resident of West Springfield and a 1975 graduate of West Springfield High School.  She then graduated from Westfield State University with a degree in Law Enforcement.  Linda worked for twenty-one years for the Hampden County Sheriff's Office.  She enjoyed traveling, cats and was a voracious reader.  Linda courageously battled cancer for twelve years.  During that time, she showed us not only how to live with the disease, but how to triumph.  She was an inspiration to us all.  Linda's family would like to thank the Baystate Hospice for the kind and compassionate care that was shown to her during her illness.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Suty. She leaves a daughter and her partner, Arianna Suty and Eric Cummings of Chicopee and their son, Gabriel Cummings, who was Linda's one and only grandson.  Linda was proud to be "Grandma Linda" which gave her fifteen years of profound joy and happiness.  This helped Linda to push forward every day.  She truly loved being a "grandma" more than anything else in the world.  She also leaves two sisters, Christine Serani and her husband Richard of East Falmouth, Rosemary Suty and her partner, Eric Nylander of Medway, MA, and many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.  Calling hours are Sunday from 2-4pm at the West Springfield Curran Jones, 109 Main Street followed by a service at 4pm.
