Lisa A.  Baker Champigny

1962 – 2018

AGAWAM – Lisa A. (Baker) Champigny, 55, of Valentine Street died suddenly Monday evening surrounded by her loving family, friends and caretakers.  Lisa was born in Holyoke daughter of the late Francis and Frances (Gula) Baker.  She grew up in South Hadley, graduating from South Hadley High School in 1980, and has lived in Agawam for the past 15 years.  She went on to get her nursing degree and worked for many years as a registered nurse in the Emergency Room at Holyoke Hospital and more recently was at Baystate Medical Center's Chestnut Surgical Center.  Lisa was most comfortable spending time with family and friends.  She enjoyed the Patriots and Red Sox and was a big baseball fan.  Lisa was very stylish and loved to decorate and update her home. She loved the beach and to travel. She leaves her husband Daniel Champigny; beloved canine companion Barney; her sisters Caroline Egan and her husband John, Jennifer "Jan" Smith and her husband Michael; brother Kenneth Baker and his wife Judy; brother-in-law John Champigny and his wife Lisa and her mother-in-law Julie Nassif.  She also leaves her nieces and nephews, Theresa Baker, Michael Baker and his wife Nicky, Gregory Baker, Christopher Egan and his wife Jessica, Hannah Baker, Gretta and Oscar Smith, Sam, Canaan and Chase Champigny (her 2-year old nephew, who called her "Uncle Lisa"); several great nieces and nephews and many dear friends.  The funeral will be held at the Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home Monday at 11:00am followed by burial in Agawam Center Cemetery.  Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 4:00 – 7:00pm.  For more details please visit curranjones.com.  For those wishing donations may be made to the Lisa Ann Baker Nursing Scholarship, c/o Easthampton Bank, 770 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001 or to the Shriner's Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
