Lois E. (Ayres) Knight

1923 – 2018

AMHERST – Lois E. (Ayres) Knight, 94, died peacefully at The Arbors Assisted Living facility in Amherst Friday morning surrounded by her loving family.  Lois was born in Springfield, June 24, 1923, daughter of the late Benjamin and Ellen (Barrett) Ayres.  Lois lived in Worcester for the first thirty years of her life, followed by thirty years in the greater Chicago area and thirty years of retirement in Spring Hill, Florida.  She moved to South Hadley five years ago and spent her final months in Amherst.  An accomplished bridge player, Lois spent many years teaching bridge and directing bridge games in Illinois and Florida.  Her husband Walter S. Knight died in 2005.  She leaves a son Jeffrey Knight and his wife Audrey Guhn; a daughter Nancy E. Rosenberg and her husband Neil; a sister Janet Coles; five grandchildren and three great granddaughters.  A private memorial service will be held at a later date.  For more details please visit curranobrien.com.  For those wishing, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to Heifer International.
