LOIS VETO:

Lois (Surprenant) Veto, born on August 24, 1932 in Chicopee, Massachusetts, passed away at age 86 on September 18, 2018 in Jupiter, Florida.  She was proceeded in death by her loving husband of 50 years Donald P. Veto.  She was a devoted mother and grandmother leaving behind her son Donald R. Veto of Florida, Lisa Costello (Dennis) of Florida and Lori Tracy (James) of North Carolina and her (5) grandchildren; Cameron, Carly, Samantha, Zachary and Jillian.  Lois graduated from Chicopee High School and later worked for the Chicopee Housing Authority.  She met her husband Don while waiting for the bus stop to get to work; they shared some coffee and then 50 years of marriage.  She was kind, gentle and compassionate toward others yet demonstrated great strength in both personal and professional relationships.  The absence of her sweet singing voice and comforting embrace will be missed.  Visitation for family and friends will occur on Monday, September 24th from 8:30 to 9:00 a.m. at Curran-Jones Funeral Home-109 Main Street, West Springfield followed by a funeral mass and liturgy at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish of West Springfield.  The burial will take place at the Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Agawam at 11 a.m.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Heart Association; ( www.heart.org ).
