October 25, 1926 – December 2, 2025
Loretta O. (St. Peter) Leger, 99, passed away peacefully in Apopka,Fl on December 2, 2025. She was born in Russell, MA to the late Henry and Ora (Briggs) St. Peter. As a child, she moved to Springfield and graduated from Tech High School in 1945. She married her only love, Alexander L. Leger on April 12,1947. Before his passing in 1989, they enjoyed traveling, cruising and dancing. After his passing, she moved to Westfield and lived with her devoted daughter and son-in-law until 2017, when she moved to Winter Garden, FL.
Loretta worked at US Envelope before starting a family. She stayed at home and raised her family before working thrity-eight years at The Copper House Restaurant in East Springfield. There she would greet customers with a smile and address them by name.
Throughout her life, Loretta found joy in the simple things. She had a passion for sewing, cooking, attending summer concerts, Bingo and following social media on her IPAD. She was an avid fan and follower of Dan Kane and Noah Lis. Her most cherished times were spent with family.
Loretta was a member of St Mary's Church in Springfield, Semper Fidelis, Springfield Golden Agers, Westfield YMCA Water Aerobics and Westfield Center of Aging. She made many lifelong friends through the things she loved to do.
Loretta is predeceased by her grandson, Kevyn Leger, eight siblings, Edmore St. Peter, Roger St. Peter, Donald St. Peter, Eva Pandolfi, Pearl Mitchell, Vivian Bembenek, Elsie Fahey and Beatrice Singley.
In addition to her daughter, Janice Spagnoli and son-in-law Joseph of Winter Garden, FL, she leaves her son Richard Leger and his wife Patricia of Westfield, four grandchildren whom she was so proud of, Jeffrey Leger and wife Andrea, Andrea Perry and husband Michael, Anthony Spagnoli and wife Jessica and Nicole Iacovelli and husband, Clayton, eight beautiful great-grandchildren whom she adored, Avery and Alyssa Perry, Cameron and Sophia Spagnoli, Stella and Vivian Iacovelli and Samuel and Benjamin Leger, along with many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held 8:30am -10am Friday, December 19, 2025 at the AGAWAM CURRAN JONES FUNERAL HOME, 745 Cooper Street followed by a Funeral Home Service at 10. The burial will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, all in Agawam, MA.
