Lorraine A. (Versiglioni) Geren died Sunday, February 26, at Heritage Hall in Agawam. Lorraine was born to Duilio and Marina A. (Augusti) Versiglioni on November 16, 1924. She was a 1942 graduate of West Springfield High School. At an early age, Lorraine became a very accomplished ballet dancer whose talent was widely recognized. She was regularly featured in local publications and appeared in numerous ballet performances at Jacob's Pillow. She was predeceased by her husband, James A. Geren. She leaves three children: James G. Geren, Debra M. Bardwell and her husband Paul and Lori A. Grenier and her husband Paul, all of West Springfield. In addition, she leaves two grandchildren, Lurene Grenier and Danielle Villar and two great-grandchildren Ethan and Emily Villar. Lorraine was a communicant of St. Ann's Church and later of St. Thomas Church in West Springfield. All of her life, she was well known for her love of pets and was an avid supporter of many animal shelters. Over the years, her cherished dogs included Sam, Buster and most recently, Jag. Lorraine's family wishes to thank the staff of Heritage Hall East for the exceptional care and compassion that they provided during her illness. According to her wishes, there will be no calling hours and burial will be at the convenience of the family. Curran-Jones Funeral Home in West Springfield is in charge of arrangements.
