Lorraine E. Loomer
1938 – 2013

AGAWAM – Lorraine E. (Thomas) Loomer, 75, of Cooper Street passed away peacefully in Mercy Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 7, 1938, in West Springfield, the daughter of the late Said and Catherine (Baho) Thomas. , Lorraine was raised in West Springfield and was a 1955 graduate of West Springfield High School; she has lived in Agawam for the past 49 years. Lorraine was a retired secretary for General Fiber Box, City Stamp Works and Architects of Packaging and was a longtime communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church. She leaves her husband of 54 years Edward J. Loomer; a son Michael T. Loomer of Agawam; her brother Richard Thomas of West Springfield, five sisters Jeannette Corey of West Springfield, Catherine "Helen" Gauthier of Ludlow, Roseanne Hall and her husband Neil of Westfield, Mary "Rita" Thomas of West Springfield and Theresa Norton of West Springfield. She also leaves a large extended family with many cherished nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held at the Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home, 745 Cooper Street, Friday November 15, 2013 at 7:30am with Liturgy in St. John the Evangelist Church at 9:00am followed by burial in the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery.
