Lorraine T.
Moller
January 2, 1930 – January 23, 2026
After a brief illness, Lorraine Moller passed away peacefully January 23, 2026 with family by her side at the Sosin Rehabilitation Center in Longmeadow MA. Lorraine was born January 2, 1930 to Louise and Graton Holt-Hughes in Weehawken NJ. She grew up in Newport RI and as many of her family members, attended boarding schools in Canada and Vermont. She graduated from high school, St. Catherine's Academy in Newport, at the age of sixteen. Lorraine worked a variety of jobs until she married Hector Marcoux in 1949. Lorraine and Hector moved to Springfield MA and welcomed their first child, Denise in 1952 and their son David in 1954. Unfortunately, Lorraine and Hector's marriage did not last. Lorraine raised her two young children, maintained their home and worked multiple jobs to keep the family afloat.
In 1975, George Moller and his four children, Bryan, Gary, Cindy and Carolyn came into her life. George and Lorraine were married 37 years until his death in 2012. George and Lorraine had a full life together and shared their love of their extended family. They enjoyed sailing, traveling, song and music, swimming, family gatherings and their winter home in Florida.
Lorraine's legacy will be remembered as the matriarch that kept her large extended family close. Her home was a picture gallery of all her loved ones. She had a special fondness of children and always had plenty of love to give them. She was predeceased by her brother Wallace Martland and her daughter-in-law Cynthia Moller. She leaves behind her 6 children: Denise Naiva and husband Fred of Belmont, NH; David Marcoux and wife Paula of Klamath Falls OR; Bryan Moller of Palmer, MA; Gary Moller and wife Donna of Chicopee MA; Cindy Baxter and husband Jim of Lebanon IL; and Carolyn Bacon and husband Marc of Sudbury, MA; 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, cousins, several nieces and nephews and 2 remaining sister-in-laws.
There will be no visiting hours per Lorraine's wishes. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 47 Pine Street, West Springfield MA Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 11AM. A reception will follow at the Storrowtown Tavern in West Springfield, MA.
Memorial donations can be made to St. Jude's Research Hospital. For those wishing to send flowers, deliveries can be sent to: Mr and Mrs Gary Moller, 66 Andover Rd, Chicopee, MA 01020
