Louise S. Bachta

1936 – 2018

FEEDING HILLS – Louise S. (Spagnuolo) Bachta, 82, died Monday in Baystate Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.  Louise was born in Springfield, daughter of the late Gennaro and Assunta (D'Amato) Spagnuolo.  She has lived in Agawam over 50 years.  She worked as a baker at Liberty Bakery, Food Mart and finally retired from Stop & Shop.  She was a longtime communicant of Sacred Heart Church and was an avid bowler.  Louse was predeceased by her husband John F. Bachta in 1990.  She leaves four children Bruce F. Bachta, Linda M. Cardaropoli and her husband Claudio, Jeri Ann Bachta and Jacqueline Radwilowicz; four grandchildren Jessica, Brian, Edward and Johnathan; and a great grandson Ryan.  She also leaves her niece Holly Janisieski and several other nieces and nephews; sisters and brother-in-law Clara and John Barlow, Roberta and Frederick Lafayette and Anthony Coviello, many dear friends, including the "Church Hens" group and her canine companion "Buddy".   She was predeceased by a brother Jerry Spagnuolo and sister Marie Shedd.  The funeral will be held at the Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home Friday at 10:30am followed by liturgy in Sacred Heart Church at noon.  The burial will take place in Springfield Street Cemetery.  Visiting hours will be held prior to the Mass Friday from 10:30 – 11:30am.  For more details please visit curranjones.com.  Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
