WEST SPRINGFIELD – Louise C. (Blais) Bonfitto, 79, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015. Born in Thetford Mines, Province of Quebec, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Alexandre and Emilia (Blais) Blais. She moved to West Springfield fifty-three years ago. Louise had worked for the former New England Telephone as an operator for thirty-seven years, retiring from Verizon. She was a member of the Agawam/West Springfield Nocturnal Adoration Society, the United Society, a member of the former St. Ann's Church and a former member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Louise was a candlepin bowler, and loved walking and playing the piano. She was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Louise was a faith filled woman, with a kind word and a smile for all she met. The family wishes to express its heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers at Wingate of West Springfield. She leaves her husband of fifty-three years, Robert R. Bonfitto, two sons, Michael R. and his wife Mary Lou Bonfitto of Westfield, Stephen J. Bonfitto of Tampa, FL, two brothers, Gilles Blais, Jacques and his wife Rita Blais, a sister, Michele and her husband Andre Piuze all of Canada, three grandchildren, Maria, Rachel and Julia Bonfitto, a brother-in-law, William Bonfitto, a sister-in-law, Nancy Bonfitto of Texas and several nieces and nephews here, and in Canada and France. She was predeceased by her oldest son, Richard Bonfitto in 1966. The funeral will be Tuesday at 9am from the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home, 109 Main Street with a Mass in St. Thomas the Apostle Church at 10.
