Louise M. "Bonnie" (Meara) Nigro, 78, died Sunday at home. Bonnie was born in Springfield and has lived here her entire life. She worked as a Teacher's Aid for the Springfield School System and was a communicant of Mary, Mother of Hope Church. Her greatest love was God and family. She shared with us so many years of wonderful memories we will always remember. She showed us what it meant to cherish our family traditions with music, dance and laughter. Blessed were the children she touched as she marveled in their awe of the world. Blessed were we to know her love. "Women like my mother cannot die. She is within me still, real in memory as she was in flesh, loving and beloved forever. How green was my valley then, and that sweet Irish Smile." She leaves her husband Nicholas Nigro; three children Anthony and Joseph Nigro and Susan Nigro; her four grandchildren Mackaiden, Francis, Nicholas and Sydney and a great grandchild Sofiah. Friends and family will meet at Mary, Mother of Hope Church at 9:30am on Thursday for the Mass followed by burial in the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery. Calling hours at West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home are Wednesday 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to American Parkinson Disease Assoc., 72 E. Concord St., C3, Boston, MA 02118. For more information please go to curranjones.com.
