Louise A. Thompson

1959 – 2017

Agawam – Louise (Allen) Thompson, 58, of Agawam, passed away Tuesday October 3, 2017 at Mass General Hospital in Boston with her loving husband & children by her side.  Born in Springfield March 28, 1959, Louise was a 1977 graduate of West Springfield High School.  She ran a successful daycare from her home for 10 years before retiring as a TSA security officer after 10 years at Bradley International Airport where she made many lifelong friends.  She loved gardening, cooking, & traveling with the other "softball wives", but family was the most important thing in her life.  She will be terribly missed by her husband of 31 years Ken Thompson, son Michael, daughter Heather, & "grand-dog" Jude.  She also leaves behind her parents Ray & Mildred Allen, sister Millie Machia, sister Renee Avalos & brothers John & Ray Allen Jr.   She was predeceased by her brother Joseph Allen.  The family would like to thank everyone in the infusion facility at the D'Amour Cancer Center in Springfield for all the loving care they gave Louise the past 5 years.  Visiting hours will be Wednesday October 11 from 9:00 – 10:00am with the funeral service directly following at the Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home, 745 Cooper Street.  The burial will be at the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery.  For more details please visit curranjones.com.  Donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis TN 38105 or Shriner's Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
