WEST SPRINGFIELD-Lucy (Onigian) Smith, 90, of Morton Street, died Thursday in Heritage Hall Nursing Home surrounded by her family. She was born in Springfield, daughter of the late George and Vartanoush Onigian, grew up in West Springfield and graduated from West Springfield High School Class of 1939. Lucy worshipped at St. Gregory Armenian Church in Indian Orchard and worked 18 years as a clerk at Baystate Medical Center. She was predeceased by her husband Charles W. Smith and her son Alan Smith. She leaves a son Richard Smith of Feeding Hills, a sister Victoria Abajian of Thornwood, NY, three grandchildren, Stephanie Smith of Shrewsbury, Stephen Smith of Feeding Hills and Charles Smith of Agawam and a brother in law Gordon Gibson of Catskill, NY. The funeral will be held at St. Gregory Armenian Church, 135 Goodwin Street, Indian Orchard Monday August 8, 2011 at 11:00am followed by burial in Hillcrest Park Cemetery.
