Madeline R. McCollum

1934 – 2024

Feeding Hills – Madeline R. (Bruso) McCollum, 89 died peacefully Friday surrounded by her loving family.  Madeline was born in Springfield, the daughter of the late George and Ida (LaPlant) Bruso.  She grew up in Springfield and lived in East Longmeadow most of her life before moving to Barre and then Agawam.  She worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Ames Department Store. She also was a dance instructor for Fred Astaire Dance Studio.  She was an avid reader, loved to travel, and take care of her two cats.  Her loving husband, Joseph McCollum died in 2009.  She leaves her four sons, Joseph McCollum Jr., Robert J. McCollum, Kenneth R. McCollum and Gregory J. McCollum; a daughter Karen A. Dion; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.  The funeral will be held at the Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 9:30 am with Liturgy in Sacred Heart Church at 10:30am followed by burial in St. Michael's Cemetery.  Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, March 20, 2024 from 4:00 – 7:00pm.  For more information and online condolences please visit curranjones.com.
