1936 – 2016
West Springfield – Marcelino A. "Charles" Mirolli, 79, of Belle Avenue passed away peacefully with family by his side on Veteran's Day. Charles was born and raised in West Springfield. At a young age he had a gift and passion for electrical engineering. Charles served in the United States Army and was involved in several top secret national security projects. He was on the forefront of rocket and missile development in Cape Canaveral and Fort Bliss, Texas, working on the first team to develop offensive missiles that reached high altitudes. He was a 30 year member of the Verdi Club, and was the club's secretary for many of those years. He leaves his three brothers, Gino, Londo, and Henry Mirolli. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. A committal service will be held in the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery on Friday, November 18, 2016 at 10:00 am. The West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home is handling all arrangements.
