Margaret Martin

AGWAM- Margaret Martin, 87 of Agawam died peacefully after a long illness at her home on November 26, 2010 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Springfield on March 29, 1923 to William and Elizabeth Morehead. She attended Springfield schools and moved to Agawam in 1945 where she was a communicant of Sacred Heart Parish in Feeding Hills.

Margaret was predeceased by her loving husband, George on July 22, 1988 and her beloved daughter-in-law Candice in March 2010. She is survived by her children, George and his wife Dorothy of Westfield, Kathleen Nesin and her husband Robert of Westfield, Jack and his wife Elena of West Springfield and Kenneth of Southwick. She leaves eight grandchildren; Laurie Cecchi and her husband David, Michael Martin, Benjamin and Jonathan Nesin, Jessie Martin and Sarah Wood and her husband Jim, Nate and Zachary Martin; and eight great grandchildren, Ashley Weisse, Joseph and Bailey Cecchi, Thomas and Margaret Martin, Elijah, Dakota and Isiah Wood and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her dear friend and Kenneth's mother-in-law Evalyn Philbrick. The funeral will be Tuesday at 10:30 am at the Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home followed by a Liturgy in Sacred Heart Church at 11:30 am. Burial will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Monday from 4:00-7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Margaret's name to Baystate Hospice, 50 Maple Street, P.O. Box 9058, Springfield, MA 01102-9058.
