Maria Santana Chalas, died Thursday peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Maria was born and raised in the Dominican Republic, she came to the United States in the 1970's and lived in New York and Lawrence before moving to Springfield in 2003. She was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church and it's Carismatico Club. She was predeceased by her husband Marcos Chalas. She leaves four children Yoselyn, Carmen, Ivelises and Livington Chalas. Maria's funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church will be  Monday at 10:00am. Visiting hours will be at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Sunday from 2:00 – 5:00pm.
