Obituary

Maria (Andujar) Pacheco, 85, entered into eternal rest on Friday, October 25, 2024.  Born in Utuado, Puerto Rico, raised in San Juan in Pedro and Juanita Morles home from the age of seven whom became her forever family. She was brave and courageous in leaving Puerto and settling with her family in Brooklyn, New York.  For many years she lived near her Morales family sharing celebrations and family time. In the last two years of her life she spent in Springfield, MA with her daughter's family. She was a great cook and loved baking. Her pumpkin bread in coffee cans was a favorite during the holidays. She also loved traveling and enjoyed memorable adventures with Juanita and the family after their retirement.  She visited Father Manny in the Dominican Republic and went with him to the Holy Land.  For many years Maria and her husband dedicated their home to fostering children.  She is survived by six sons, Ivan, Dennis, Roger, John , Luis, Joseph, a one daughter, Madeline, and her two brothers, Peter, Raymond, two sisters, Carmen, and Yvette. Maria loved her fourteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was loved and was very proud of her family.

A Mass of Christian burial will be on November 13, 2024 at 10:00am with her cousin, Rev. Father Manuel Rodgriguez as celebrant in the higher-level church at the Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 526 59th Street, Brooklyn, New York. The burial will be in St. Charles/Resurrection Cemetries, 2015 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, New York.
