Obituary

Marian Sheridan peacefully passed away December 31 at Loomis House in Holyoke. She was the daughter of Vincent Muscaro of Calabria, Italy and Catherine Gladys (Beers) Muscaro of Coldwater, Michigan. Born in Springfield, MA in 1926, she spent almost all of her life as a resident of West Springfield. Marian was an active elected member of the West Springfield Town Meeting for more than two decades as well as serving with the West Springfield Community Development Office. She was a lifelong communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street. Marian worked at Smith and Wesson during WWII producing gun barrels. She also worked as a bank clerk at the Third National Bank in West Springfield before becoming a full time homemaker. Marian was an avid gardener, candlepin bowler and excellent baker. She very much enjoyed her Tuesday night poker games with "the girls" for over 40 years. Marian was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, William Sheridan in 2004. She leaves a sister Shirley Kernan of New Hartford, CT and a brother Donald Muscaro of Holland, MA. She was predeceased by her brother Vincent in 2011. Marian is survived by a daughter Linda Sheridan and her husband Greg Jakimenko of West Springfield and a son Michael Sheridan and wife Ann of Springfield. She also leaves five grandchildren Thomas, Jason, Christopher, Lesley and Jeffrey and eight great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. The family would like to give special thanks to her son-in-law Greg Jakimenko and niece Debbie Cappucci for their time and the care that they provided prior to Marian moving to Loomis House. Friends and family will meet at West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Thursday at 9:00 am and will follow in procession to the Mass Veteran's Memorial Cemetery for committal services. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 5:30 pm.  A funeral home service will take place at 5:30 pm at Curran-Jones. For more information please go to curranjones.com.
