Marianne (McCarthy) Campbell, 75, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. Born in Springfield, daughter of the late John William and Ann Marie (Dwyer) McCarthy, she grew up in Springfield and was a 1968 graduate of the former Sacred Heart High School. She had worked as a senior clerk typist and retired as a teacher's aid at the West Springfield Middle School. Marianne's life was devoted to her three children and their activities, whether it be as a Gridiron Mom or the PTO. She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church. She leaves her husband of fifty-three years, retired Chief of Police of the Agawam Police Department, Robert D. Campbell, two sons and their wives, David R. and Mary Campbell of Fairfield, CT, Jeffrey W. and Stephanie Campbell of Ft. Myers, FL, a daughter and her husband, Christine M. and Brian Machos of Feeding Hills, a brother, Thomas McCarthy of Holyoke, two sisters, Margaret McCarthy of Old Saybrook, CT, Martha McCarthy of Waterville, ME, eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Wednesday at 9am from the AGAWAM CURRAN JONES FUNERAL HOME, 745 Cooper Street followed by a Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church at 10.
