WESTFIELD – Marianne (Kropkowski) Lopez, 75 of East Mountain Road died Sunday at home surrounded by family and friends. Marianne was born in Jersey City, NJ the daughter of George and Blanche (Wrobel) Kropkowski. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse until her retirement in 2008. Her husband Edward M. Lopez died in 1984. She leaves five children Michael Lopez of Cartersville, GA, Christopher Lopez and his wife Kate of Homer, Alaska, Robert Lopez of West Springfield, Anne Marie Burt of Cartersville, Georgia and Pamela Lopez-Wroth and her husband Dan of West Springfield. Marianne also leaves behind eight grandchildren, Steven, Jeffrey, Jennifer, Taylor, Dylan, Simon, Gina, and Lauren. She was predeceased by a son Thomas and two brothers Ray and Casimir Kropkowski.
Marianne was an avid reader, dog lover, and traveler. She will be remembered most for her sense of humor and strong will.
She leaves behind many friends and loved ones, especially her friends at East Mountain View.
A funeral Mass will be held in St. Thomas the Apostle Church Friday at 10:00am with burial at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours and the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home is handling all arrangements.
