Marie Theresa Ann (Grasso) Labun, 85, of Armbrook Village and formerly of Agawam, passed away at home on Wednesday, January 18, 2017. Born in Windsor Locks, June 23, 1931, daughter of the late Angelo and Anna (Manzi) Grasso, she grew up in Agawam and was a 1950 graduate of Agawam High School. She worked for many years at Sears & Roebuck. Marie's greatest past time was watching the New York Giants. She also enjoyed watching the Red Sox, but most of all she loved spending time with her husband, Steve. She was a member of the St. John's Catholic Women's Club and a communicant of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Westfield and formerly both St. John the Evangelist Church and Sacred Heart Church in Agawam. She leaves her husband of fifty-three years, Stephen Labun, her caregivers, Ann Marie and Scott Collins of Chicopee, Robert and Kathleen Labun of Westfield and their children, Douglas, Nicole and Joseph, Laura Gustafson of Agawam and her children, Samuel and Alisa, a sister, Elizabeth Grasso of Feeding Hills, two sisters-in-law, Rosemarie Grasso of Chicopee, Mary K. Labun of Feeding Hills and many other special nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother and his wife, Andrew and Norma Grasso, and a sister and her husband, Adrienne and Thomas Frasco. Many special thanks to Maria at Caring Solutions for all she has done for Marie. The funeral will be Tuesday at 12:15pm from the AGAWAM CURRAN-JONES FUNERAL HOME, 745 Cooper Street with a Mass in Sacred Heart Church at 12:45. The burial will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the service from 10:30am-12:15pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sacred Heart Church, 1061 Springfield Street, Feeding Hills, MA 01030 or the Rays of Hope, 280 Chestnut Street, Springfield, MA 01199.
