Marie R. (Charpentier) Fournier, 96, entered into eternal rest on Friday, Nov. 4, 2016 in Holyoke Medical Center. Born in Holyoke, daughter of the late Joseph A. and Grace (Roy) Charpentier, she attended the former Precious Blood Grammar School before moving to Northampton. She graduated the 8th grade from the former Sacred Heart School and then was a 1938 graduate of Northampton High School. She moved back to Holyoke and worked at the former American Bosch during World War II then worked for twenty-eight years for Hano Business Forms in Holyoke. Marie was interested in almost all arts and crafts, and her favorite was counted cross stitch, and crocheting. The family would like to thank the staff at the Holyoke Health Care Center on Cabot Street for the compassionate care that was shown to Marie during her stay there. She married Richard H. Fournier on May 11, 1946 and was married to him for fifty-eight years, before he died on Dec. 29, 2004. She was pre-deceased by a brother, Robert R. Charpentier and a sister, Rita Root. She leaves a sister-in-law, Claire Fournier of Chicopee. The funeral will be Saturday at 8:30am from the CURRAN-O'BRIEN FUNERAL HOME, 33 Lamb Street, South Hadley with a Mass at 10 at St. Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee. The burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery in South Hadley. Calling hours will precede the Mass from 8:30 – 9:30.
