Marie E. Mazza
1957 – 2015

WEST SPRINGFIELD – Marie E. (Mayers) Mazza, 58, of Garden Street entered into eternal rest on Monday, May 25, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Marie was born January 26, 1957, the daughter of Robert "Bibo" and Mary Lou (Mascioni) Welch. She was a 1975 graduate of West Springfield High School and received her Associates Degree from STCC in 1978. She worked for several years as an Administrative Assistant at the former Third National Bank, but her true passion for the past 20 years has been working with special needs kids as a Paraprofessional at John Ashley School. Besides her parents, Marie leaves behind her loving husband of 34 years Dominic Mazza; a beloved son Vincent; sisters Sheri Calabrese, Debra Sullivan and her husband James all of West Springfield; brother-in-law David Mazza, and sister-in-law Donna Richburg. She also leaves her loving nieces and nephews Gia, Christina and Robert Calabrese, Katherine and Michael Sullivan and Tim "TJ", Mike and J.C. Richburg. The family would like to thank all who donated their time to make her benefit a wonderful celebration of her life, also a special thanks to the chemotherapy unit at Mercy Hospital and the wonderful staff at Wingate of West Springfield for Marie's care during her illness. Visiting Hours will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Friday, May 29th from 4:00 – 7:00pm. Family and friends are asked to meet at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Church, Main St. West Springfield Saturday, May 30th at 10:00am for the Liturgy of Christian Burial.
