Obituary

Marilyn J. (Anderson) Spaulding, 88 of Halifax died on September 20, 2016 at Wingate at Silver Lake. She was born in Springfield, MA daughter of the late John C. and Edith E. (Ekland) Anderson and was raised and educated there. She was a graduate of Commerce High School. Mrs. Spaulding was a longtime resident of West Springfield and later lived in Norwell and Bourne before settling in Halifax three years ago. She was an active member in the past of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in W. Springfield, St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Hanover and St. Peter's on the Canal Church in Bourne. Marilyn had been employed as a clerk at the former Almy's in Hanover for several years. An avid Red Sox fan, she had been a member of the Bosox Club and frequently travelled to Florida for Spring Training. Wife of the late Charles O. Spaulding, Sr. she is survived by her daughters Nancy L. Huebner of Wilmington, DE. And Jane E. Currie of Halifax, She was the mother of the late Charles O. Spaulding, Jr. Also surviving are her sister Lois Godfrey of Fl., Five grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by a brother Robert W. Anderson. Calling hours will be Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home. The funeral will be held Tuesday at the Church of the Good Shepherd in West Springfield at 10 am. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Springfield. The family encourages visitors to wear their favorite Red Sox attire to honor Marilyn's love for the home town team.
