WEST SPRINGFIELD – Mario Sanchez, 66, passed away suddenly on Sunday. Mario was born in New York City, son of the late Mario and Victoria (Garcia) Sanchez. He was a parishioner at Bethany Assembly of God, where he was a member of the Men of Honor – Warrior Champions. Professionally, Mario worked as a Maintenance Porter for Big Y and was honorably discharged from the United States Army. In his spare time, Mario loved spending time with his family and fishing. Mario leaves behind his wife and best friend of 45 years, Theresa (Crowley) Sanchez of West Springfield, two sons, Mario, III and Jesse of West Springfield, two daughters, Melissa Sanchez and her partner Joseph of Springfield and Theresa Sanchez of West Springfield, nine grandchildren, Meaghan, Maliyah, Natalie, Alyssa, Joseph, Richard, Rosie, Rayliegh and Elias, and Brandon Rapaglia, who was like a son to him. The Funeral Service for Mario will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 2:30 pm. A calling hour will be held prior to the funeral from 1-2:30 pm.
