Marion Mallette
1927 – 2012

HAMPDEN – Marion (Buffington) Mallette, 84 of Main Street died Saturday in a local nursing home. Marion was born in Palmer, grew up in East Longmeadow, lived in Feeding Hills most of her life and has lived in Hampden for the past 3 years. She owned and operated the Country Doll House in Feeding Hills for many years. Her husband Maurice "Skip" Mallette died in 2008. She leaves her four children Judith Moriarty and her husband Tom and Allyn Mallette all of Gilbert, AZ, Joan Nunziato and her husband Carl of Feeding Hills and Robert Mallette of Mercer, ME. She also leaves a brother Herbert Buffington; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at Wingate of Hampden, administration on down through housekeeping, for the exceptional care given to Marion during her stay with them. The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Thursday at 10:00am with Liturgy in Sacred Heart Church, Springfield at 11:00am followed by burial in Hillcrest Park Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 4:00 – 7:00pm. For online condolences please visit curranjones.com.
