Marjorie A. "Marge" (Pratt) Wood, 86, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at home.  Born in Boston, daughter of the late James A. and Nora E. (Illingworth) Pratt, she moved to West Springfield at the age of seven with her parents.  She lived in West Springfield until February 2022 when she moved to Loomis Lakeside at Reeds Landing in Springfield.  She attended West Springfield public schools and graduated from West Springfield High School in 1956.  She then attended Holyoke Community College receiving an Associate Degree. Marge then began her long banking career, working for the former Valley Bank and retired from BayBank after more than twenty years of service.  She was a longtime member the former Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd where she served as Senior Warden for many years.  She was past president of the F.A.C.E.S Dog Rescue organization.  She was also in the Naval Reserves  where did some duty at the Pentagon. Marge's family would like to thank the staff and care providers at Loomis Lakeside Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing home for the care shown to her. She leaves three cousins and their spouses, Catherine (Illingworth) and William Currier, George and Kathy Illingworth, Philip and Jerri Illingworth, and her longtime friends, Carole Ibsen of South Hadley and Elaine Hurlbut of West Springfield.  A graveside service will be Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 10:30am at Hillcrest Park Cemetery, 895 Parker Street, Springfield.  In leu of flowers donations can be sent to Dakin Humane Society, 171 Union Street,Springfield, MA 01105 or Human to Human, c/o Episcopal Diocese of Western MA, 37 Chestnut Street, Springfield, MA 01103.
