Martha M. Kisser

1924 – 2023

West Springfield – Martha (Matchett) Kisser, 99, died Wednesday evening surrounded by her loving family and caregivers.  Martha was born in Chicopee, grew up in Springfield and moved to West Springfield in 1965.  She graduated from Commerce High School and worked for many years as the executive secretary for the Pioneer Valley AFL-CIO Labor Council.  She was a lifelong member of the Salvation Army Springfield Citadel, where she was a member of the band and Songsters.  She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge.  Her husband James C. Kisser Sr. died in 2003.  She leaves her son James C. Kisser Jr. and his wife Deborah and three granddaughters Rebekah and Hanson Kisser and Bethany Bahl and her husband Carsten.  Besides her husband Martha was predeceased by a daughter Deborah Jean Kisser.  The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Monday at noon.  Visiting hours will be held prior to the funeral home service Monday from 11:00am – Noon.  For online condolences please visit curranjones.com.
