Obituary

SPRINGFIELD-Mrs. Mary Blanche (Dumontier) Champagne lived a full, active 99 years before passing into eternity with Jesus on Wednesday. She was a vibrant and much loved resident of Mason-Wright Assisted Living Home for 5 years, where she was a blessing to all. She was born and grew up in Worcester with her identical twin sister, Mary Rose, and other siblings. Blanche was married to her late husband, Ernest, and for 63 years they loved and took care of each other, nursing him through his last illness. She started a career at age 39 as a draftswoman, and became an expert at drawing schematics for military equipment at Associated Engineers of the former Bowles Airport in Agawam. She took up Tae Kwon Do in her retirement, earning a black belt at age 72. She is survived by her two children, Ronald and Roberta, 5 granddaughters, 12 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be at Faith Bible Church at 370 Shoemaker Lane, in Agawam Sunday at 2:30 pm. Visiting hours will be prior to the Funeral Service at the church from 1:00 to 2:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faith Bible Church to help the family with the funeral expenses. Curran-Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
