August 11, 1936 – January 16, 2017
Mary Elizabeth (Black) Tynan, 80, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family, where she lived for over fifty years. Born in Brookline, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Grace (Kelliher) Black and was a graduate of St. Mary's High School in Brookline. She married Clement Tynan on October 22, 1960 and they raised their family in Feeding Hills. Mary worked as a bookkeeper for the family business, Pioneer Valley Auto Parts for twenty years, then worked for Hilltop Services as a personal assistant for the past twenty years. She will always be remembered as an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Clement, a son, Kenneth, a daughter, Mary and a brother, Jackie. She leaves behind a son, Paul of South Yarmouth and his girlfriend, Sharlene Gomes, a daughter, Elizabeth Tynan-Moriarty and her husband, Patrick, who was her wonderful caregiver and friend, with whom she lived. She also leaves behind her two granddaughters, Erin Shenefield and Alexandria Tynan, her great-grandson, Kenneth, a sister, Frances Fitzgerald of Rosandale, and many loving relatives and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to a Funeral Mass on Thursday at 9:45am at Sacred Heart Church, 1061 Springfield Street followed by burial in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Calling hours are at the AGAWAM CURRAN-JONES FUNERAL HOME, 745 Cooper Street on Wednesday from 4-7pm.
