Obituary

Mary H. (Hickey) Kane, 89, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, August 4, 2016. Born in Holyoke, daughter of the late Charles and Helen (McLean) Hickey, she grew up in Holyoke, and lived most of her life in South Hadley. Mary worked as a secretary for many local businesses. She was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church. Her husband, Edmund J. Kane died in 2006. She leaves a daughter, Susan A. Vilbon of South Hadley, a sister, Barbara Fimognari of Longmeadow and Florida, and a granddaughter, Jen Vilbon. She was predeceased by a brother, John Hickey. The family would like to thank the staff at the Holyoke Health Care Center for the compassionate care shown to Mary while she was a resident there. A graveside service will be Friday at 1pm at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam. CURRAN-O'BRIEN FUNERAL HOME is assisting the family. Donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
