May 13, 1930 – December 14, 2016
Mary passed away peacefully on December 14th with her daughters by her side. Mary was born in Springfield to Cornelius J. and Ellen T. (Crowley) Sheehan and spent most of her life in West Springfield. She was a parishioner at St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Mary retired from the Town of West Springfield Health Department and was a member of the West Springfield Senior Center. At the senior center she volunteered for meals on wheels and was a member of the vacation club where she organized and took many trips. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters as well as her friends and her neighbors on Druids Lane. She leaves behind to cherish her memories her daughters Nancy Liquori and Joseph Gonyer of Monson; Patricia Midwood, husband Mark of Westfield; Granddaughters Rachel Midwood and Tracy Midwood of Westfield and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 3 brothers. Her daughters would like to thank the staff at Baystate Hospice and Heritage Hall East in Agawam for their comfort and care of Mary in her final days. The Mass will be Monday at 11 am in St. Thomas Church followed by burial in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the Mass on Monday at West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. Donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
