Obituary

Mary E. (O'Connell) Mackintosh, 89, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 in Baystate Medical Center. Born in Springfield, daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Terry) O'Connell, she lived in Agawam since 1969. Mary had worked as a dental assistant and as a teller for the former First National Bank in Hazardville, CT. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and enjoyed bowling. Her husband, William B. Mackintosh died in 1964. She leaves a son, John C. Mackintosh of Stafford Springs, CT, a daughter, Mary K. "Kate" Mackintosh of Chicopee, a brother and his wife, Daniel C. and Jan Odlum of Caldwell, ID, and a sister and her husband, Rita O. and James Begley of Southwick. Besides her husband, Mary was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Nancy Gustafson in 2006. The funeral will be held at the AGAWAM CURRAN-JONES FUNERAL HOME, 745 Cooper Street, on Monday at 9:30 with a Liturgy in Sacred Heart Church at 11:00am followed by burial in St. Michael's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held prior to the Mass on Monday from 9:30 – 10:30am. For more details please visit curranjones.com.
