Mary M. Van Loan died September 15, 2019 after a short illness.  Her daughters spent the final weeks with her.  Mary was born in Rutland, VT and following graduation from Rutland High School moved to Springfield, MA. where she entered the Springfield Hospital School of Nursing.  Upon graduating from nursing school, she made a career as a nurse at the Springfield and Wesson hospitals.  In Springfield she met her future husband Kenneth Van Loan and married in 1948.  She was the proud mother of four daughters: Karol De Falco (County Tipperary, Ireland), Marta Van Loan (Martinez, CA) Ellen Richards (Canton, MI) and Connie Castillo (Buena Park, CA). She was predeceased by her parents George and Gertrude Regan, her brother Edward Regan, and husband Kenneth Van Loan. She was grandmother to Jeffery and Elizabeth Richards and Raymond and Michael Castillo and great grandmother to Elijah Castillo. The funeral service will be Wednesday October 23 ^rd at 10 am at the First Congregational Church in Southwick followed by burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Westfield. Calling hours at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home will be Tuesday October 22 ^nd from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Donations may be made to Western Massachusetts Hospice.
