Mary Jane Frey

1945 – 2021

Wilbraham – Mary Jane (Sheaffer) Frey, 76, died Monday evening surrounded by her loving family.  Mary Jane was born in Springfield, grew up in West Springfield and was a 1963 graduate of West Springfield High School.  She received her nursing degree in 1985 from Western Mass Nursing School.  She moved to Washington State with her family in 1988 where she worked as a dealer at the Lucky Eagle Casino before returning to Massachusetts in 2018. Mary Jane was married to Rick Nye of West Springfield for 27 years and later married Warren Frey of Chehalis, WA. She leaves her husband Warren Frey; five children Carolyn Wells and her husband George, Rick Nye and his wife Annalise, Scott Nye and his wife Laura, Jeff Frey and his wife Kristie, Jenny Frey. Along with eight Grandchildren Annika, Taylor, Karsten, Kaare, Matt, Josh, Melanie and Rhyse. MaryJane was predeceased by her brother Harry "Skip" Sheaffer and his wife Phyllis. Mary Jane's family would like to thank the staff at Lifecare and Baystate Hospice for the loving and compassionate care they gave Mary Jane in her last days. The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Saturday at 10:30am, followed by burial in Forestdale Cemetery in Holyoke.
