Matthew R. Fiala

1989 – 2019

West Springfield – Matthew R. Fiala, 30, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday.  Matt was born on February 26, 1989, in Springfield and lived in West Springfield his entire life.  He was a 2007 graduate of West Springfield High School and received his Bachelor's Degree in Communications from Westfield State University.  He was currently working for Home Depot.  He leaves his parents Anthony and Laurie (Stahelski) Fiala; a brother Andrew Fiala; sister-in-law Bridget; his niece Natalie along with several uncles, aunts, cousins, countless friends and his cat Sophie.  He was predeceased by his grandparents Walter "Butsy" and Mary Fiala and Francis and Dorothea Stahelski.   Matt could light up a room; his smile, laugh and sense of humor were unmatched and will be greatly missed.  The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Monday at 11:00am followed by burial in St. Thomas Cemetery.  Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 4:00 – 7:00pm.  For more details please visit curranjones.com.
