Obituary

Maureen (Scott) Hutcheons, 82, of West Springfield, MA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her children on November 18, 2022. Born to George E. and Hazel R. (Bradway) Scott, s he was raised in Springfield and graduated from Commerce High School in 1958, before moving to West Springfield in 1962.  She was predeceased by her husband, William J. Hutcheons, Jr. in 2008 and a daughter, Kelly Hutcheons in 2022.  She leaves behind a daughter and two sons: Kate and her husband Frank Caskin, of Rockville, MD; Brian Hutcheons and his wife Kim, of Milford NH; and Shawn Hutcheons and his partner Rick Gates of Longmeadow; a brother, Norman Scott of Westfield; a son-in-law, David Hennessey of Granby, CT and six grandchildren; Andrew, Patrick, Connor, Meggie, Ava, and Ella. She was a loving and devoted grandmother, attending countless games, meets and recitals. Maureen worked for many years as a bookkeeper for the former Eastern Electric Supply Company and dedicated most of her adult life to her family. She was an avid gardener and loved spending time on Cape Cod. The funeral will be Thursday, December 1, 2022, at 10 am at the West Springfield Curran Jones Funeral Home, 109 Main Street, followed by the burial in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Springfield Rescue Mission, 10 Mill Street, Box. 9045, Springfield, MA 01102-9045.
