Obituary

Maurice R. MacDonald, 87, of South Hadley passed away suddenly, while at work, on Wednesday May 16th. Maurice was born in Aldenville to the late Victor & Marieanne MacDonald and has lived in South Hadley most of his life. He was employed at Digital Corporation in Westfield for 17 years and in retirement he worked for Marois Construction Company at the Raymond Center as a superintendent for 23 years. He will be remembered for his good nature and incredible work ethic. He was a longtime communicant of St. Patrick's Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus in South Hadley. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Martha E. (Bailly) MacDonald, his four wonderful children and their spouses Michael and Sandra MacDonald, Mark and Celine MacDonald, Michelle and Michael Bakos and Maureen and Donald Ingram. He is also survived by nine incredible grandchildren Kelly, Kevin, Hunter, Marcus, Chantel, Michael, Ashley, Connor and Morgan, and three adorable great grandchildren Anna, Daniel and Maverick and an adoring sister Bertha Hoar. He was predeceased by 4 brothers, Henry, Paul, Raymond, Robert and 4 sisters Adrienne, Cecile, Irene and Jeannette. The funeral will be held in the Chapel of the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Agawam on Thursday, May 24 at 9am. The Curran-O'Brien Funeral Home is handling all arrangements.
