Michael A. Amato, 58, died suddenly in New York City on Monday. He was born in Springfield, son of Marco and Margaret "Peggy" (O'Shaughnessey) Amato and lived there most of his life before moving to Bradenton in 2012. Mike graduated from West Springfield High School in 1975 and from Wentworth Institute in Boston. Mike worked as a project/facility manager of Darden Corp., a highly regarded employee who nationally oversaw the restaurant branch Bahamas Breeze's construction and operations.He leaves his wife Victoria (DellaGuistina) Amato, two sons Michael of New York City and Mario of Bradenton, FL, his mother Peggy of West Springfield, brothers Marco and his wife Cynthia of West Springfield, David and his wife Liz of Wareham, Patrick and his wife Mary of Longmeadow and Eddie of FL, his sister Lynn Corrigall and her husband Steve of GA, and his beloved cat Cleo, and grand-cat Coco, along with many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He loved: his Boston sports teams, his sport cars, but most of all his family. The funeral will be Friday at 11 am at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home.
