Michael A. Melloni
1953 – 2014

WEST SPRINGFIELD – Michael A. Melloni, 60, of Morton Street died suddenly at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Michael was born in Springfield and has lived in West Springfield all his life. He was a graduate of West Springfield High School and a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church. He was employed by Hamilton Sundstrand for 37 years as a toolmaker. He leaves his wife of 42 years Sandra L. (Bensen) Melloni; a son Brent M. Melloni and his wife Leah; a daughter Briana Melloni Douglas; three grandchildren Chiara, Vincenzo and Gianni, all of West Springfield; two brothers David and Angelo Melloni; a sister Nancy Melloni; and his brother-in-law Gary Bensen. Mike was an extremely hard working man who valued family above all else. TO HIS WIFE he was a devoted, supportive husband who made her feel blessed every day they were together. TO HIS CHILDREN he showed them thru example the value of hard work, dedication and respect for others. TO HIS GRANDCHILDREN he was a loving Nunu and their "BEST BUDDY" going on McFlurry runs. TO HIS FRIENDS he was the person who was always selflessly doing for others. Everyone who knew Mike admired him, respected him and liked him. He will be missed and never forgotten. The funeral will be held at the Agawam Curran-Jones Funeral Home Wednesday at 9:00am with Liturgy in St. Thomas Church at 10:00am followed by burial in St. Thomas Cemetery.
