WEST SPRINGFIELD – Michael J. Phillips, 46, of Cold Spring Avenue died Saturday in Baystate Medical Center. Michael was born in Springfield, the son of Lawrence R. and Suzette M. (Warren) Phillips. He graduated from West Springfield High School, and has lived in West Springfield his entire life. He was a 20-year Manager at Tire Warehouse and an avid Redskins Fan. A longtime coach of the Agawam Youth Wrestling Team, he was a friend to many and willing to help anyone. Besides his parents he leaves his wife Deborah (Bernier) Phillips; his children and pride of his life, Joseph, Tyler, Autumn Phillips and Jason Johnson; a brother Lawrence Phillips Jr. and his wife Laurie and a granddaughter on the way. Michael was predeceased by a sister Yvette Scafuri. Visiting hours will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Thursday from 4:00 - 7:00pm with a service starting at 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family, c/o Curran-Jones Funeral Home, 109 Main St. West Springfield, MA, 01089.
