Mildred J. "Millie" (Stark) Macey, 87, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Born in West Springfield, daughter of the late Amos and Jeanette (Proulx) Stark, she lived in Agawam for over fifty-five years. Millie was a 1948 graduate of Springfield Technical High School and was a retired cafeteria worker in the Agawam Public School System. She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church and a member of the St. John's Women's Guild. She enjoyed cooking and baking, especially pies which were her specialty, crocheting afghans, and was an avid Patriots fan. Millie leaves her husband of sixty-nine years, Laurence K. Macey, they were married on January 29, 1948 in Holy Name Church in Springfield. She also leaves three "favorite" sons, Wayne K. and his wife Ann Macey, Scott L. and his wife Ann Macey, Christopher J. and his wife Jeanne Macey, two daughters, Linda J. Halbach and her husband Paul Halbach, Debra Macey Taylor and her husband Richard Taylor, all of Agawam, eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Joyce Bailey. Millie's family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Hall South for the kind and compassionate care that was shown to her while she was a resident there. The funeral will be Tuesday at 7pm at the AGAWAM CURRAN-JONES FUNERAL HOME, 745 Cooper Street. Calling hours will precede the service on Tuesday from 4-7pm. The burial will be private.
