Wilbraham – Molly passed away unexpectedly on October 23, 2021, in Leesburg, FL. She is survived by her beloved husband and best friend of 51 years, William F. Leahy and her three children: Meaghan (Todd) Palmer, Maureen (David) O'Brien, and W. Patrick Leahy. Molly adored her 7 grandchildren: Paige, Chelsea, Brynn, Bryce, Sloane, Nolan, and Reese. Her dog, Annie, will miss her deeply, as well. Molly grew up in West Springfield. She obtained her B.A. from the University of Massachusetts (Amherst), later obtaining graduate degrees from the University of Cincinnati and American International College. Molly and her husband , Bill, raised their family in Wilbraham. She worked as a Special Education Teacher, then became a School psychologist for the Connecticut Department of Children and Families. Molly retired in 2009 and split time between Brewster and The Villages, FL. She enjoyed traveling with her husband , especially on Viking Cruise Ships (Normandy, the Rhine, and the Mediterranean), Hawaii and most recently, Bar Harbor, ME. Molly also loved visiting lighthouses and National Parks. She loved sharing stories about her children and grandchildren, online shopping, hanging out with her rescue dogs, and cheering for Boston College, Notre Dame, and the Red Sox. Molly was immensely loyal and remained true to herself and her convictions. She will be missed by all who knew her. Molly was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Stuart Briggs, and her sister, Belinda Asano. The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Saturday, Nov. 6, 2021, at 11:00am. Visiting hours will be held prior to the funeral home service Saturday from 10:00 – 11:00am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
