Nancy L. Howe

1954 – 2018

SPRINGFIELD – Nancy L. (Chevalier) Howe, 63, passed away peacefully Thursday at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.  Nancy was born in Enfield, graduated from Enrico Fermi High School in 1972 with her best friends, Carol Flenke and Donna Frederick.  She has lived in Springfield since 1976 and was a retired office manager for Dr. William Bazin's Office.  Nancy was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Longmeadow.  She founded a neighborhood Crime Watch and was very active with M.A.D.D.  Her husband, George Howe died in 2006.  She leaves two children William S. Howe and Jennifer L. Howe; a grandson, whom she loved dearly, Liam George Howe.  She also leaves Erin Blair, whom she considered her "daughter"; two brothers Leonard and his wife Linda and Thomas Chevalier and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a brother William.  The funeral will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Tuesday at 10:00am with Liturgy at St. Mary's Church, Longmeadow at Noon.  Visiting hours will be held Tuesday morning from 10:00 – 11:30am.  For more details please visit curranjones.com.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Dakin Humane Society, 171 Union Street, Springfield, 01105.
