Nancy Senez
1951 - 2015

Springfield – Nancy J. "Nunny" (Racicot) Senez, 64, daughter of the late Joseph and Theresa (DeMaio) Racicot and youngest of eight, died Sunday at home surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born in Springfield, grew up in West Springfield, before returning to Springfield in 1971. She leaves her childhood sweetheart and husband of forty-four years, Colonel Ronald Senez (Retired). It is said that behind every strong soldier, there is an even stronger women who stands behind him, and supports him with all her heart. Nunny was that women. Her entire world revolved around her children; Shana Vaccaro and her husband John, Joel Senez and his wife Naomi and Aaron Senez and his wife Kathy; grandchildren Garrett and Brooke Vaccaro, Sonhae and Soleil Senez and Thiago Senez and her beloved Micaela and Estefania Peralta. She loved her home so much in the Forest Park section of Springfield. When her children were young she spent countless days in the park playing ball, fishing, ice-skating on the ponds and sliding in the winters. For years she enjoyed walking in the park often accompanied by Shana and her beloved sister-in-law Bonnie LaPorte who also provided constant comfort and support through her nineteen month battle with cancer. Nun spent innumerable hours with her treasured daughter and best friend Shana helping with her children and shopping together. She loved attending her sons' games from Little League through college. She would never miss a game. This passion continued with her grandchildren Brooke and Garrett. She loved being a Nana. She enjoyed feeding the ducks with her Sonhae Rose and doting on her Thiago and Soleil. Nun's big home in the park was also open to Shana, Joel and Aaron's many friends throughout the years. They always knew there was a warm bed, plenty of great food, and looked forward to opening the "big cabinet" in "Nun's Kitchen." Besides Ronald and the children Nun leaves her siblings Joann DiSisto and her husband Bill, Joe and Kenny Racicot, Bill Racicot and his wife Maxine and Bobby Racicot and his wife Nancy, along with her in-laws Tom Briggs and his wife Linda, Ed and Tillie Senez, Bonnie and Brian LaPorte, Bernie and Katy Senez, Ed Senez, Ann Senez and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents Nancy was predeceased by her sisters Theresa King and Rosalie Briggs and Brothers-in-law Mike King and Ernie Senez. The family would like to thank her Baystate Hospice nurse Linda Twyeffort, Dr. Farooqui and his MA, Jewel, and the staff at the Mercy Infusion Center. They were all so very kind and helpful to Nun during this most difficult time. Also, a special thanks to DR. Burstein, NP Lyndsey Shaw and Meegan English at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Nun leaves behind some very special friend that she loved dearly: Paul and Kathy Moore, Stash and Fran Stefanowich and Angie Daniele. In keeping with the very private and humble way Nun lived her life, she has requested no funeral or wake. There will be a service for the family at a later date.
