Obituary

Nello C. Grassetti, 85, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 14, 2026.

Born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Dominic and Eugenia (Biagiola) Grassetti and had been a resident of Agawam for more than sixty years. Nello worked for twenty-five years at the former Western Massachusetts Electric Company, retiring in 1991 as a Supervisor.

Nello was a devoted fan of the New England Patriots and the New York Yankees and found peace and happiness in tending his garden. He appreciated life’s simple pleasures, but nothing brought him greater joy than the people he loved. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Nello’s quiet strength, steady presence, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Pamela (McKay) Grassetti, and his sisters, Mary McCreanor and Rita Ducharme. Though their reunion brings comfort to those who loved them, his absence leaves a space in the hearts of his family that can never truly be filled.

He leaves his son, Stephen D. Grassetti and his fiancée, Charlene Clark, of Enfield; his daughter, Karen S. Conard and her husband, Keith Conard, of Springfield; his grandchildren, Angela Dance and her husband, Michael Dance, Dominic Grassetti and his wife, Kate Grassetti, and Ryan Conard; his great-grandchildren, Brayden Grassetti, Francesca Dance, and Vincent Dance; as well as several nieces and nephews, all of whom will carry forward the love, lessons, and memories he gave so freely.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the dedicated staff of Agawam North Rehab and Nursing and AccentCare Hospice of Massachusetts for the exceptional care, comfort, and compassion they provided to Nello and his loved ones. Their kindness and gentle support brought peace to Nello and strength to his family during his final days, a gift that will never be forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to gather to share stories, laughter, and memories of Nello. While his family mourns the loss of a man who meant so much to so many, they also celebrate a life well lived and a love that will endure beyond a lifetime. Though he may no longer walk beside them, he will forever live on in the gardens he tended, the games he cheered for, the traditions he created, and, most of all, in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to call him Dad, Grandpy, Great-Grandpy, family, and friend. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2026 from 11am-12:30pm at the Agawam Curran Jones Funeral Home, 745 Cooper Street, Agawam, followed by a Funeral Home Service at 12:30pm. Burial will be private.

lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Nello’s memory to the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America (MSAA) or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, in honor of a cause close to the hearts of his family.
