Nevin C. Fannin

1948 – 2020

Chicopee – Chicopee – Nevin C. Fannin, 71, died peacefully Monday at Baystate Medical Center.  Nevin was born July 23, 1948 in rural Wakeman, Ohio the son of the late Burrel and Mary (Carr) Fannin.  He attended  Camden School in Kipton, OH and graduated from San Lorenzo, CA High School.  He lived in Nashville  before coming to Western Massachusetts, where he lived in Springfield for many years before moving to  Chicopee.  Nevin served in the United States Air Force,  with the United States Navy during the Vietnam  war and retired honorably as an aircraft electrician from the Air Force.  He received numerous  commendations including: the Air Force Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Air Force Longevity Service Award. Nevin was an artistic man who enjoyed painting, writing and creative projects with his son, Jon. He was predeceased by his wife Cathlene (Campanini) Fannin and leaves his two children Jonathan with whom he lived and Christine Fannin and her fiancé Will Lamountain: brother Marvin Fannin and his wife Judy, sisters Irene Draper and Margaret Espinosa and several nieces and nephews.  A private service will be held in the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery.  The West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home is handling all arrangements.  For more details or online condolences please visit curranjones.com.  Memorial contributions may be made to Joyce Meyers Ministries at www.joycemeyer.org
